Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 – Watchmaking Redefined

Modular Watches are one of the most recent and revolutionary concepts in the smart watch category. They can be tailor-made to suit every need, every style – not just in terms of aesthetics but technical requirements too. The concept allows room for customized solutions in the world of luxury timepieces, be it the kind of strap one wants or as witch from digital to analogue. Choose the modules that meet your requirements and build yourself a watch that reflects your personality and taste.
Keeping up with a legacy founded by Edouard Heuer in the 1860s, TAG HEUER stands for revolutionary technology and design. Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45, retailedat Ethos Watch Boutiques and other established watch retailers, is world’s first “Swiss Made” modular smart watch series.

The second iteration of Tag Heuer's Connected smartwatch brings with it a twist, but offers much the same visual appeal as the original model. The chunky and sporty looks of the Modular 45 comes with a modular design – you can choose the body, lugs and strap. It has a premium metal body and a balck metal backplate. The dial is 45mm in diameter and 13.5mm thick. Everything, from the bodywork to the strap, is superior.

Here’s a more detailed list of features to get you familiar with TAG Modular 45 - a series that is at the top of every watch connoisseur’s mind:
  1. Swiss Made
Designed, developed, and assembled at the TAG Heuer headquarters in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Tag Heuer Modular 45 series boasts of extremely small text at the bottom of the connected case that reads “Swiss Made”. This is the first watch to carry the Swiss made name.
  2. Hardware & Specifications
Continuing its partnership with Intel & Google, the Intel Atom Z34XX chipset sits at the heart of this watch. The upgraded Android system is a huge boon for all iPhone users who can now access the 4000-app strong Android Play store. There's 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which you can use to store music on your phone. It also offers the option to connect to Bluetooth headphones, for when you need music on-the-go. 3. Interchangeable Straps:
Hands down the plushest Android Wear watch on the market right now, the series comes with an option hard to resist - customization. Buyers have the luxury to purchase lugs in 3 colour options – Rose Gold, Titanium & Ceramic; each very unique from another. This feature presents its users with the flexibility to wear it in different styles basis occasion, location and their own personal style. Wear it in Rose Gold for a Sunday outdoorsy garden brunch but in chic Titanium for a formal tuxedo night. The Ceramic version is more of an all-rounder.
  4. Easy Switch Modularity
TAG makes sure that you never get bored when playing around with one of their timepieces – too much to explore, enough to delve deeper into. There's even the option to buy an analogue watch module, so that you can leave the smartwatch at home, and walk out wearing a mechanical chronograph instead.
  5. Display
The Modular 45 hosts a 1.39-inch fully round display. It offers a 400 x 400 pixel resolution, resulting in 287ppi, which is typical of such a device. However, Tag has used an AMOLED panel for rich blacks and covered it with a 2.5mm thick sapphire crystal cover for protection.
  6.  Battery Life
Battery life is one of the biggest pain-points of many mobile devices, none more so than smartwatches. The Modular 45 has a 410mAh battery, charged via a magnetic contact plate that attaches to the rear which in turn needs to connect to a Micro-USB power source.
