  1. Take the sliced paneer cubes in the bowl and pat them dry.
  2. Peel and chop ginger and garlic cloves. Also, diagonally chop green chilli.
  3. Capsicum and Onions form an important part of the dish. They should be cut in equal square pieces. Make sure that you remove the Capsicum seeds as it can even spoil the taste if not removed.
  4. Now that the preparation is done, we can move along to cook the main dish i.e. the chilli paneer.

Steps for cooking Chilli Paneer

  1. To begin with, you must marinate the paneer. So firstly, tale the bowl in which you had added paneer cubes and now add corn starch, red chilli powder, black pepper powder and salt over the paneer cubes in the same quantity as mentioned above.
  2. Gently mix them all by rubbing your fingers all over. Make sure that you are gentle in your approach and do not break the cubes. If you are not confident enough, then you can just shake the bowl and mix the contents. Although mixing with the fingers can make the contents spread equally.
  3. Heat some oil in a pan and place the cubes over it. Flip them when the base is cooked. Again be gentle in your approach. Do this until it is uniformly golden.
  4. Keep the paneer cubes aside in a plate now. There will be leftover corn flour in the bowl. Add water to it to form a paste which will be later used to add glaze to the sauce.
  5. Now take another bowl and add soya sauce, green chilli sauce, red chilli sauce, black pepper powder as well as red chilli powder and mix well.
  6. Now, in the same pan, where paneer was sautéed, add ginger, garlic, capsicum as well as onions. Stir and fry on medium flame until the contents turn golden brown.
  7. Add salt to it and keep stirring. Now you can add the corn flour paste which you had prepared with the leftover corn flour earlier. Also, keep on checking the taste and do not hesitate to add any sauce if you deem necessary.
  8. Now add the pan fried paneer cubes which were kept aside in a plate earlier to the mixture. Stir it for around 5 minutes at low flame.
  9. Now your chilli paneer is ready. Take it off the flame and garnish it using coriander leaves or spring onions if you happen to have them.
  10. Serve hot as it tastes best when hot.
