5 Reasons to Schedule a Spa Day This Weekend

Wellness experts are strongly advocating self-care, especially for women. So many women are stressed out trying to balance their demanding jobs with their tasks at home that they tend to look and sound like they are always on the brink of a nervous breakdown.

Self-care shouldn’t be too difficult. In fact, just one day of self-care can make a whole world of difference on how you feel about yourself and even your life.
Do you know that an hour-long massage can rejuvenate you like a full night’s sleep? Just imagine how much better you would feel if you dedicate a day in a week or even a month to just pampering yourself?
So, schedule a spa day this weekend. Even if a lot of people need you, set aside a few hours to put yourself first because you will be better at meeting other people’s needs if you are physically and mentally reinvigorated.

Other than this, there are other reasons why it’s timely to have a spa day as soon as this coming weekend.
1. It’s an opportunity to “disconnect” and have some quiet time
When you go in for a massage at the spa, you will be asked to “disconnect” from your mobile devices. The massage therapist will ask you to turn your phone off and put it away. This means, if your boss or your husband and children need you, they will just have to wait.
For an hour, you can clear your head of all the voices and the demands that typically send your heart racing from stress.
2. You deserve to see a better version of yourself
If you do so much for other people, then you deserve to do something nice for yourself as well.
Most spas offer salon services, too, and you can make improvements with your physical appearance to give you that boost of confidence.
Top fashion stylists say a hair color change, for one, actually has the power to change the way you feel about yourself. It can bring out what you feel inside, or make you believe you are the person whom you want to be.
3. It can remind you of how truly valuable you are
A lot of stay-at-home moms like to call themselves the queen of the house. However, they very rarely feel queenly because they always have to put their family first.
They are always in “service mode” that they cannot even think to take care of themselves. Because of this, they eventually develop this mindset that their needs are not important. This is a negative mindset that needs to be corrected.
A woman who does so much for others needs pampering like a complete VIP all the more.
Being waited on by self-care professionals is a great reminder for “worked-to-the-brink” mothers that they are VIPs in life. If you are a tired queen of the house, a spa day is absolutely perfect.
When you get a beauty or pampering treatment such as foot massage followed by a gorgeous snowman pedi expect to regain your “queenly” self-perception. You will be surprised by how other people will also start treating you like the “queen” that you truly are.
4. Stress can make you sick
Not getting enough sleep can make you sick. Being tired all the time can make you sick. Ignoring your pains and other physical discomforts can lead to an actual serious illness. A day at the spa can banish the stress and pain of an entire week.
If you cannot afford to get sick, take good care of yourself. Surrender your wellness to able hands and be “healed.”
5. It’s the perfect opportunity to hang out with your girlfriends
Studies reveal that spending time with friends can actually make antidepressants work better. So, if you have been feeling a little down in life, setting up a date with your friends can help pluck you out of the dark pit you feel you are in. And to further benefit from it, spend the day getting pampered.
A spa day is a wonderful event to get together with people who can relate to you and give you encouragement. Make it a date with your best girlfriends.
Making yourself your priority through self-care will allow you to be “present” for those who need you. But more importantly, it will bring better quality to your own life, so you can meet every new day with great energy and joy.
